Joani Nester, LPC
My hope as a counselor, conflict coach and mediator, is to help people find reasons and remedies for the struggles they are having, trying to live in relationships authentically and vulnerably, ultimately to love God, others and themselves well. Over the last 22+ years I’ve walked alongside individuals, couples, families, missionaries, and organizations and seen firsthand the power of love, compassion, empathy, honor, understanding, validation, courage, perseverance and faith, to heal the brokenhearted. I’ve learned that we are all walking wounded and would benefit from some help figuring out what are the hindrances to experiencing what we long for in relationships. Often crises, transitions, traumas, and losses are the causes of great distress and affect every facet of our being. I’m passionate about inspiring hope for change and take a holistic approach to finding healing for the mind, body, spirit and heart. My practices are eclectic and draw from a biblical worldview, attachment theory, cognitive behavioral therapy, family systems theory, relational neuroscience, and EMDR. I wholeheartedly endeavor to build trust that is conducive to a healing process in our counseling relationship, and I would love to serve you.
Other things I am passionate about are my husband, 4 adult children, their spouses, and 6 amazing grandchildren! Music, cooking delicious food, taking care of plants inside and out, studying/researching, working out and women’s Bible study, add to the beauty of relationships with family, friends, colleagues and God in my life.
